Meerstein was established in 1909 as a manufacturer of clothing in fur, cashmere and silk of unrivalled quality.

Originally based in Bavaria, in 2000 the company moved its headquarters in a purpose-built all-glass factory hidden in a nature reserve outside of Saxony ́s baroque capital Dresden. This facility is known as the most modern in East Germany and the only coat factory left, with a resilience of 105 years, that is still completely and without exception made in Germany.

Nevertheless, only a small number of fine customers know of our coats, retailed in the top multi-brand stores across 43 countries including Saks Fifth Avenue and in the past Barneys, J. Mendel and Harrod‘s.

Our coats are worn by high ranking politicians, royal families and celebrities such as Mary Crowne Princess of Denmark, Caroline Princess of Hanover, Harald V. King of Norway, Cécilia Ciganer-Albéniz, Sara Netanyahu, Lila Castellaneta and Naina Yeltsina.

Today, Meerstein continues to define timeless elegance and understatement combined with high quality craftsmanship at absolutely no compromise.

Quality is part of everything we do, and a staple of pride for our highly skilled workforce and the traditional craftsmanship for what our region prides itself.

Our cashmere is woven exclusively for us in by the best mills in Italy and Germany, to our specifications of highest standard and through continuous in-house research and innovation. Our furs are of unrivalled quality and responsibly sourced as a member of the Kopenhagen Fur Auction House, where the work of our experts can be seen in the quality, clarity of colour and hair structure of our selection.
